What this test measures
The Elite Health Profile is a comprehensive blood and urine test panel that measures over 20 biomarkers to assess multiple aspects of health and wellness. This extensive panel includes a complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), lipid/cholesterol panel, urinalysis, hemoglobin A1c, insulin, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), apolipoprotein B (ApoB), thyroid markers (TSH, T3, and T4), nutrition markers (ferritin, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and folate), and testosterone. The comprehensive metabolic panel component evaluates blood sugar (glucose), electrolytes and fluid balance (sodium, calcium, potassium, carbon dioxide, chloride), proteins (albumin, total protein), kidney health (blood urea nitrogen, creatinine), and liver health (alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, bilirubin).
Together, these tests can help flag issues related to inflammation, cholesterol, blood sugar, liver and kidney function, hormones, and immune system regulation --- key areas often assessed at annual wellness visits that can impact energy, metabolism, and overall wellness. This panel doesn't just detect disease --- it identifies early imbalances that could lead to disease. The combination of cardiovascular markers, metabolic indicators, thyroid function tests, and nutritional assessments provides individuals with a comprehensive view of their current health status and may help identify areas for optimization before symptoms develop.
What's included
Who should consider this test
You might consider this test if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Individuals seeking a comprehensive baseline health assessment to establish reference points for future monitoring and preventive healthcare planning.
- Those experiencing symptoms such as unexplained fatigue, weight changes, mood fluctuations, or decreased energy levels that may be related to metabolic, thyroid, or nutritional imbalances.
- People with family histories of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or other chronic conditions who want proactive health screening.
- Adults who haven't had recent lab work and want to assess their overall health status without requiring a doctor's visit or waiting for an annual physical.
- Individuals interested in optimizing their health and wellness through understanding their metabolic markers, hormone levels, and nutritional status.
- Those considering lifestyle changes related to diet, exercise, or supplementation who want comprehensive baseline measurements to track progress.
What to expect
Preparation
Fast for 9-12 hours before testing. Water is permitted during the fasting period. Continue taking regular medications unless specifically advised otherwise by a healthcare provider. Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours before testing as it may affect certain results.
Sample Type
A trained phlebotomist will collect blood samples from a vein in the arm using standard venipuncture techniques. A urine sample will also be collected using a sterile collection cup provided at the laboratory.
Collection
The blood draw typically takes 5-10 minutes, while urine collection is immediate. The laboratory staff will ensure proper sample handling and processing for accurate results across all biomarkers tested.
Turnaround
Results are typically available within 2-4 business days and will be accessible through a secure online portal with detailed explanations of each biomarker.
Understanding your results
Comprehensive metabolic panel results are usually evaluated in conjunction with each other for patterns of results. The pattern of abnormal results can help identify the possible conditions or diseases present. Individual biomarkers should be interpreted within the context of overall health status and other test results rather than in isolation.
| Population | Reference Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Adults | Varies by biomarker | Each test component has specific reference ranges that may vary slightly between laboratories |
Reference ranges may vary by laboratory and individual factors. Results should be interpreted by a healthcare provider in the context of your overall health.
What does a “Low” result mean?
Low results in certain biomarkers may also indicate health considerations that warrant attention. Low vitamin D or B12 levels may suggest nutritional deficiencies. Low thyroid hormone levels may indicate thyroid dysfunction. Low protein levels may suggest nutritional concerns or liver function issues. Low red blood cell counts may indicate anemia. However, individual results should always be interpreted in the context of symptoms, medical history, and other test findings.
What does a “High” result mean?
Elevated results in various biomarkers may suggest different health considerations. For example, elevated glucose or A1C levels may indicate increased diabetes risk or poor blood sugar control. Elevated cholesterol markers may suggest cardiovascular risk factors. High inflammatory markers like CRP may indicate underlying inflammation. Elevated liver enzymes may suggest liver stress or dysfunction. It's important to note that single abnormal results don't necessarily indicate disease and should be evaluated by a healthcare provider considering overall health status.
Privacy & confidentiality
All test results are confidential and protected under HIPAA regulations. Results are not automatically sent to personal physicians or added to medical records unless specifically requested. No insurance billing occurs for these direct-pay tests, ensuring privacy and avoiding potential impacts on insurance coverage or rates.
